Sometimes I Wonder

What are the Cavaliers thinking?
Several years ago there was a commercial on TV that sums up the Cleveland Cavaliers. The ad went something like this. A group of weekend warrior softball players, the Beavers I think, took the field. The first batter comes up and hits a ground ball that’s fielded cleanly by an infielder and thrown to first to record an out. At this point the celebration begins! It’s just the first out of the game. They have much more work to do.

So you can see where I am going with this. The picture I saw on the Internet this morning showed LeBron James with a shirt that said “champions” and a trophy held above his head.

They have just about handed the real title to the San Antonio Spurs. The Cavaliers won their championship last night. Someone needs to remind them to be the real champions they have one more series to go. I think they began their celebration a little too early.

Who invited those guys and why did they get to host a regional?
I am talking about the San Diego State baseball team coached by former Major Leaguer Tony Gwynn. This team was ranked high all year; in the Top Ten. I did some griping about that. And it turns out I was right. This bunch of dummies lost out in two games at an NCAA baseball regional on their home field. Who ranked them so high?

Look, this is like one of those things where the Dixie Chicks won a music award. They did not win the award for their music. They won the award for their politics. This was the same deal. San Diego State did not get to this dance on their own merits. They made their way all season because of their coach and who he was!

There’s more but I will quit here.
